State-of-the-art treatment and monitoring equipment ensures that your pet will receive the highest quality of care. Our compassionate staff of doctors and certified technicians are on-site 24 hours daily to ensure that your pet will have the most favorable prospects for recovery.
Our Intensive Care/Critical Care Unit provides lifesaving supportive care to critically sick or injured patients. When hospitalization is required for the ongoing treatment and monitoring of our patients our well trained staff and state-of-the-art therapy offer the best possible opportunity for successful recovery. Our Units are staffed 24 hours a day by a team of expertly trained doctors and certified veterinary technicians who work in conjunction with Dr. Anna Pesillo, board-certified in emergency and critical care.
The ICU/CCU services at AMCNE include all important components of patient care including the following:
- End-tidal capnography
- Pulse oximetry
- Intravenous fluids
- Peritoneal dialysis
- Hematocrit, hemoglobin, electrolyte and colloid osmometry monitoring
- Oxygen incubators for neonatal care
- Cardiovascular, respiratory and nutritional support
- Medication and pain control administered in a timely manner
- Separate isolation room for patients with contagious diseases
- Immediate access to necessary support services such as:
- Laboratory analysis
- Radiography
- Ultrasonography
- Endoscopy
