Our referral center is one of New England’s most extensive veterinary facilities in terms of equipment and technology.
We offer complete diagnostics, including Idexx radiography and a fully-equipped laboratory, to ensure proper diagnosis and to give you the convenience of not having to transport your pet to another facility for diagnostic testing. Our three surgery suites, designated recovery area, and extensive ICU/CCU treatment area provide uncompromised and complete care for your pet.
Our board-certified specialists are recognized as “diplomates”
by the American Veterinary Medical Association and have completed
three to four years of training after obtaining their veterinary
medical degree. By combining the expert skills of our board-certified
doctors and our advanced technology, we can resolve the most
difficult medical problems.
Our spacious reception area has been designed for your comfort and the comfort and safety of your pet. We have been awaiting your arrival, medical records are in order, and we are prepared to assist you in giving your pet the best possible care. We have already been in contact with your primary care veterinarian and are fully committed to open communication with your veterinarian as we move forward to advanced treatment.
Our exam and consultation rooms have been designed for comfort and efficiency. Your specialist will talk to you privately in a quiet environment where your pet can be examined, test results can be reviewed, and your treatment options can be discussed. You will be given the optimum opportunity to make the best medical decision for your family and your pet.
Our three surgery suites have centralized oxygen and evacuation systems along with monitoring systems that include an ECG, Doppler, and pulse oximeter. We have also incorporated a cautery, capnogram, and ventilator in our advanced program for patient care. A designated recovery nurse monitors all post operative patients in heated recovery cages and utilizes a customized pain management protocol to keep patients comfortable at all times.
Our highly developed intensive care and critical care units (ICU and CCU) offer oxygen cages, incubators, IV syringe pumps, IV fluid pumps, and monitoring equipment identical to that used in surgery. Patients are continually monitored by certified technicians and are treated by one or more of our dedicated ICU/CCU doctors who take charge of optimizing a successful care and recovery program.
The ICU/CCU services at AMCNE include all important components of patient care including the following:
